My 2 Beans: This one didn't rate as high as the first one, but then sequels seldom do. However, there's hope as there is a 3rd book and the rating for it is just as good as the first. You'll have to check back tomorrow for that review though. What was it about this one that fell short? It tends to fall in line with most 2nd books that lead to a 3rd, meaning it's a segue way into the 3rd. It wraps up a little of the first, reiterates some information, and builds up to what is to come in the 3rd. All in all that's not a bad thing, it just doesn't lend itself to a truly great book that can stand on its own. However there are some great quotes in this book, which you've already read one, the other will be posted on November 17th. So, make sure you check back for that!
So where are the ladies now? Here's the synopsis as quoted from Amazon: From the award-winning author of A Year on Ladybug Farm comes the continuing story of three women who learn what it takes to turn a house into a home.
A year after taking the chance of a lifetime, Cici, Lindsay, and Bridget are still trying to make a home for themselves on the newly-renovated Ladybug Farm. Life in the Shenandoah Valley is picturesque, but filled with unexpected trials- such as the introduction of two young people into the ordered life the women have tried to build for themselves.
As the walls of the old house reveal their secrets and the lives of those who have gone before begin to unfold, the cobbled-together household starts to disintegrate into chaos. And when one of their members is threatened by a real crisis, they must all come together to fight for the roots they've laid down, the hopes they share, and the family they've become.
