Synopsis quoted from the book cover: "With her knack for being in trouble's way, Sookie witnesses the firebombing of Merlotte's, the bar where she works. Since Sam Merlotte is now known to be two-natured, suspicion falls immediately on the anti-shifters in the area. But Sookie suspects otherwise, and she and Sam work together to uncover the culprit-and the twisted motive for the attack.
But her attention is divided. Though she can't "read" vampires, Sookie knows her lover, Eric Northman, and his "child" Pam well-and she realizes that they are plotting to kill the vampire who is now their master. Gradually, she is drawn into the plot-which is much more complicated than she knows. Caught up once again in the politics of the vampire world, Sookie will learn that she is as much of a pawn as any ordinary human-and that there is a new queen on the board..."
The 2 Beans Worth: This is another book (11th) in the long line that makes up the Sookie-saga. Poor Sookie is once again tangled up in the paranormal world, not that she ever left.
I'm not really sure what to say that hasn't already been said. The Sookie series is an absolute favorite here at Books N Beans. There's humor, suspense, action, romance...well, a little of everything. The books are all well written and always a joy to read. This one won't disappoint.
The downside to any Sookie book is when it ends and having to wait for the next one. I, for one, have taken to filling in the space between novels with watching past seasons of True Blood. While the show doesn't follow the books exactly it's still a great time. So if you're not much of a reader (what are doing at this blog?-kidding), you can catch an episode. It airs on HBO.
Either way, I'm sure you'll also be a Sookie fan soon. So get reading, or watching!
