Today's 2 Beans
In today's world, I believe that if we all could just live by these words (below) that maybe we could make our world a little nicer. I know it's a fairy tale to believe in, but a person can always dream. Right?

The following definitions were quoted from The New Oxford American Dictionary.

Acceptance: #2 "The action or process of being received as adequate or suitable, typically admitted into a group."

Compassion: "Sympathetic pity and concern for the sufferings or misfortunes of others."

Courtesy: "The showing of politeness in one's attitude and behavior toward others."

Open-Minded: "The readiness to consider something without prejudice, to be receptive to."

Tolerance: "The ability or willingness to tolerate something, in particular the existence of opinions or behavior that one does not necessarily agree with."

My wish, or wishes, is that we could live by these words. Why can't we just accept people who are different than us? Would it really hurt us to show a some compassion and just a little common courtesy? Why is it so difficult be open-minded about other lifestyles, cultures, and beliefs? Would it really be disastrous to learn to tolerate the fact that others don't have to agree with us to be an equal?

I completely agree with you. While the way some people live is not the way I would (and no I don't mean homosexuality-I'm okay with that), I do not condemn their lives. We are supposed to live in a free country, but unfortunately, people still want to try to control others. We can still dream though. :)

  2. I've never been known for my ideas being what actually passing for reality, so I'll stick with the dreaming. :D
