I'm so glad you stopped in for a visit! Since you clicked
"Come on in!" I'm going to guess that this is your first
visit, and you're probably a little curious as to what exactly you can
expect while you're here. Let's hope I'm up to the challenge.
Books N Beans was
born from a conversation I had with a friend. Long story short, we were
joking that we should start a book cafe. When I asked what we should
call it, (you know the answer) he said, "Books N Beans". I
immediately loved the name! Without books or coffee...well, my mind can't even
fathom the absurdity of the idea.
The goal for Books
N Beans is to be a virtual book cafe. A place to visit where you can
grab a cuppa (whatever you have in it is okay with me), pull up a
chair, and have a great (or at least somewhat entertaining) conversation.
As a virtual book
cafe you can expect to find things similar to what you'd find at an actual
one.
Showcase Titles: Featured titles as you see on the
shelves in the stores. These titles will be shown on the right, with the date
of its Books N Beans Showcase noted above the cover.
Author Visits: Authors will have a chance to shine in
the Spotlight on Sunday following their book's
review.
Some authors are
even brave enough to agree to an interview with me. Crazy, I know!
Other authors will
be stopping in to visit as part of their virtual book tours. Some may even be
insane enough to do a tour and an interview!
What about all the other shelves in the "store" or the New Releases section? Yep, that's covered
too.
During the week
you will see book reviews that are not a Showcase title. These are upcoming new
releases, new releases, or books I grabbed off the shelf to read.
Where's the
Cafe? Sadly the cafe is
only open on Tuesdays, and it'll have to be self-serve. There are limitations
to the virtual world. Just about every Tuesday there will be a Tasty (drink, snack, meal, dish, dessert,
etc.) for you to try for yourself. There's no guarantee you'll like them all,
but they've all been tested prior to being allowed in the cafe.
Before you decide
that you love it here at Books N Beans, I should probably offer full-disclosure
and give you a warning. Occasionally, okay frequently, my mind wanders off on
any number of topics. Some are book related and some are not. These come in the
form of quotes that caught my
attention (as fleeting as it is), some event
in life that I just had to share with you, or just random, off-the-wall thoughts that
fling their way into my brain.
However, I am
eternally grateful for your patience with my ADD-self and your patronage to
Books N Beans, so in return there will be giveaways
offered up to you. It’s really the least I can do considering all that you deal
with (me).
For everything
else, you should be able to find the information along the top and on the right
side. There's news about books and tours, more information about me (I’m so
self-focused), information on requests (I may ask for a lot in return), &
some fine print, nuts and bolts kind of stuff.
I’m not much of a hostess, so make yourself at home and explore as
you need to. Leave comments, I love them and always try to respond. If you need
